Is Christianity the correct religion because the most powerful country's most prevalent religion is Christianity? Well this was the argument that talk show host Michael Medved made. If this is true then at various points in human history Ra, The Jade Emperor, Zeus and Jupiter have all been real gods. Egypt, China, Greece and Rome have all had powerful civilizations far exceeding Isreal's meager mark on history. As a side note - Medved, seemed to be proving that Christianity is the TRUE religion despite the fact that he is an observant Jew. This makes no sense unless you acknowledge Medved's shameless pandering to religions he doesn't believe in. | ![]() |
Shouldn't the most successful and powerful country in the world be run by a theocracy dedicated to The One True God? Instead, the most successful and powerful country ends up being the first western country to extract religion from government! Yes, the USA is a SECULAR nation founded by a group of SECULARISTS! You won't find a quaker, methodist or baptist among the original founders - they were secularists interested in creating a SECULAR nation!
Here is a great link specifying what our founding fathers really believed:
Founders Were Not Christians
Even a religious website declares that the founders were not Christians:
Founders Not Christian
Here's the first paragraph:
Many well-meaning Christians argue that the United States was founded by Christian men on Christian principles. Although well-intentioned, such sentiment is unfounded. The men who lead the United States in its revolution against England, who wrote the Declaration of Independence and put together the Constitution were not Christians by any stretch of the imagination.
Surprisingly some Christians simply dismiss these sites. I decided to do my own research, it's a LOT of work and probably won't be done anytime soon but here is my work in progress on What The Founders Believed.
